I was interviewed last night by Ebby Mohseni on Vancouver Persian Radio about women in politics. I mentioned that I was running for the Vancity board of directors. A woman called to ask what makes me different from the other candidates. It’s a good question as many of the candidates are strong.
I told her that I was running as an independent and that I was committed to improving communication between the members and the board. Perhaps we can improve the percentage of voter turnout which is usually around 6-8% of eligible voters.
